Tips & Troubleshooting
Can I Use Fitted Nappies for Night Time
Yes! Especially in babies under 8 months, who are often waking in the night a Fitted Nappy is great for night time. Simply add a DIY microfleece liner to wick moisture away if you want & add you nappy cover.
If you have a medium wetter 12 months +, you might be able to use a Fitted Nappy but when they start sleeping through the night, generally that is the time to switch to Night Nappies.
I’m Getting Leaks, What do I do?
Leaking nappies is usually down to fit or absorbency. Firstly remember all bamboo & hemp fabrics take up to 10 washes to reach maximum absorbency so it may be as simple as this, so just change bub a little more often or run the fitted through some extra clothes cycles to speed up the max. absorbency.
Once they are at max absorbency & still getting leak then add an extra booster (any brand of insert) on the outside of the nappy, under the cover.
Inserts Fully Wet? If the fitted nappy is fully wet when you are getting leaks, it means there is no where else for the moisture to go, except through the fabric because it is at max capacity so simply add another booster, or change more frequently.
Check your Fit? – Ensure your Nappy Cover is fully covering the night nappy & there is nothing peeking out of the cover. Wicking will happen if clothes are toughing the inner nappy. Ensure your leg & waist snaps are firmly in position. You should be able to run a finger under each elastic so firm, but not tight.
Which Cover to Use?
Fitted Nappies on their own are not waterproof. You need a PUL Nappy Cover OR Wool Cover (for nights) to keep clothes & bedding dry.
Fitted Nappies can be worn without a cover for ultimate breathability on hot summer days, simply change baby when it feels wet to touch.
