Hemp is one of the most sustainable textile crops, using 50%Ā less water and fewer chemicals than cotton while improving soil health and absorbing large amounts of COā. Fast-growing, high-yield, and fully biodegradable, itās an eco-friendly choice for durable, natural fabrics.Ā
I loved using this nappy on a hot summers day at home ā no cover needed for maximum breathability on a hot summers day. (But yes its not waterproof so if wearing under clothes you do need a waterproof nappy cover over the top
Hey there, thanks for joining us! Leanne here Proud Owner & Long Time Cloth Nappy Mum here ....
Let me tell you my story as parent who has navigated the vast world of reusable nappies and cloth nappies on my own children for 6 years, Iāve spent countless hours & changes learning which styles really deliver on comfort, absorbency, and sustainability. My absolute favourite? Ill get to that in a second, but let me tell you about how I found cloth nappies.
My Accidental StoryĀ
Back in 2011 my first born little man Harry entered the world. 6 months into mum-life I was knee deep in disposables wondering if there was a better way. Catching up with a long time friend I hadnāt seen in years who had a baby the same age as Harry ā she turned up with the cutest little, minkee cloth nappy on her bub. Velvety soft, cute as a button and I was so surprised how easy it seemed. Two coffees later, amongst the nappy changes she kindly shared some of her BBH nappy stash for me to try ā and the rest they say is history. I was hooked, there WAS a better wayā¦. and a few months later the opportunity to buy the best cloth nappy brand in Australia presented itself. And here I am, 14 years later here I am. Still the proud owner of Baby BeeHinds ā changing the world one reusable nappy at a time and I wouldnāt have it any other way. Seeing parents make the switch to reusable successfully still rocks my world!Ā
Ā
The Luxury of ChoiceĀ
Yes as the new owner of Baby BeeHinds I had the luxury of using every style, size and colour in the range imaginable and had quite an enviable personal nappy stash. Harry was in night nappyās until he was 5, and Isla my second daughter was in reusable nappies from birth to 3yo. What does that mean? That gives me the luxury and experience to have tried our styles, create new products and improved the classics in the range.
Iāve spent countless changes learning which styles really deliver on comfort, absorbency, and sustainability. My absolute favourite? TheĀ Hemp Fitted NappyĀ paired with a waterproof or wool cover. Hereās why this natural gem outshined the rest.Ā
Ultra-Absorbent Natural Fibres
Made from a blend of 55% hemp and 45% certified organic cotton fleece, the Hemp Fitted Nappy offers outstanding absorbency, making it an exceptional choice for both day AND night use. Honestly it makes you feel good, knowing there are zero chemicals or polyester against your babys precious skin.Ā Ā
Hempās natural fibres absorb quickly and more efficiently than bamboo or synthetic materialsĀ
With up to 13 layers of thirsty hemp fleece depending on how you fold the inserts, it expertly handles medium to heavy wetting, car trips, naps, and overnight sleeping with a few tweaks at night.Ā
One-Size-Fits-Most: Designed to Grow
This nappy features a One-Size-Fits-Most (OSFM) design, suitable from newborn through toddlerāroughly 4 to 16 kgāmaking it a long-term, value-packed option for growing families. It adjusts differently to most cloth nappies on the market ā you fold the front tummy section over to reveal hidden snaps, then wrap the wings around nice and snug.Ā
Harry was a big chubba and massive wetting baby who drank SO much liquid, and this was a godsend on him ā those same nappies I used on Isla who was tall, petite and a light wetting bub. So this nappy style covered both ends of the wetting range.Ā
Natural Fibres for Breathability & Durability
Ok. so yes this is nappy from from hemp and GOTS Certified Organic Cotton but donāt be alarmed you or your baby canāt get high from any hidden highs (if you know what I mean!)Ā Ā
You can customise the absorbency where you need it
This nappy includes two snake-style snap-in insertsāone long, one shortāthat can be placed front or back or used together to tailor absorbency to your babyās wetting patterns ā I loved the snake inserts once you figure out where to position them for your baby ā easy to adapt for each baby and all the growth phases.Ā
I also loved the fact that the fitted nappies have a lower, wider bum coverage and the snuggest, but gentle elastics the whole way around the waist & legs so it snuggly fits every baby at all stages of growth. Add the waterproof cover and you have a bomb-proof, poonami proof double layer nappy that nothing can escape from.Ā
So if I was setting up my perfect nappy stash, this would be it.Ā
8 x Newborn All in One Nappies (these are so easy, you can change them when youāre knee deep in new mumma duties ā and it lets you ease into reusables the first few weeks.Ā
24-30 Hemp Fitted NappiesĀ Under 6 months, you have approx 10 nappy changes per day (inc nights) so this number allows you to wash every 2/3rd day and have enough to keep using them. Sure you can totally do 10-12 Hemp Nappies which gives you enough to go part time cloth nappies.Ā
10 x Nappy Covers (Small Size) ⦠Or half that amount if you re going part time. yes you buy the size up in covers when bub outgrows the smalls, but what a good excuse for new prints!Ā
