Over 21 years ago, Baby BeeHinds began at a kitchen table with a sewing machine, a newborn baby, and a simple mission — to create reusable nappies that actually worked. At the time, modern cloth nappies simply didn’t exist in Australia. The only option for parents was old-school terry flats with plastic pilchers — the same ones our parents and grandparents used. They were time-consuming to wash, bleach, and dry, and far from convenient for busy modern families. But Baby BeeHinds founder Davina knew there had to be a better way — a cloth nappy that was good for babies, the planet, and parents’ wallets. That vision became the foundation of Baby BeeHinds, one of Australia’s very first modern cloth nappy brands.
Building a Sustainable Brand That Lasts
What started with hand-sewing nappies from premium fabrics quickly grew into a thriving eco business. Within six months, demand for Baby BeeHinds nappies was so strong that Davina partnered with a small, ethical factory in China — a partnership that remains today, over two decades later.
We’ve been the proud owners now for the past 14 years, Baby BeeHinds continues to thrive as an iconic, trusted brand known for quality, sustainability, and innovation.

As the Baby BeeHinds community grew, so did the questions about how to wash cloth nappies effectively and safely. When we first took over the brand – washing was all about using half dose detergents, cold water and sunshine HOWEVER no wonder people gave up with smell issues and ammonia everywhere. Luckily washing cloth nappies has become simpler and easier than ever.
